Special Education Teacher - Mild Cognitive Impairment Program (MICI), Freshman Advisor
Hello Mountie Nation! I am thrilled to be a part of this educational movement towards GREATNESS! I have been teaching special education students at Northwest Community Schools since 2004. I've had the pleasure of teaching at Flora List Elementary school, Kidder Middle School, Northwest Alternative Education and now currently at Northwest High School. Prior to my teaching career I carried a BBA in marketing and a BS in Health Administration. After realizing my passion to work with children and young adults I returned to Eastern Michigan University to complete my post bachelor certification in K-5 general education in conjunction with an endorsement in Cognitive Impairment. As I continued my excitement towards helping students with special needs I later completed my Master Degree in the area of Learning Disabilities. I love my job and look forward to another rewarding year with my students and sharing the love of learning. In addition to teaching, I enjoy spending lots of time with my family, especially my grandson Channing. I look forward every year to spending time in the Traverse City area kayaking and enjoying "PURE MICHIGAN".
